DIB at Rebuild Iraq fair 2006
DIB could draw a positive balance out of its presence at the Rebuild Iraq fair 2006. The exposition attracted a record 1,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, and hosted around 40 national pavilions. Participants flocked to Jordan from the four corners of the globe - in particular from Europe, the United States, Latin America, the Far East, and of course the Middle East. Also present were a host of ministers, ambassadors, commercial counselors and government officials, and commercial delegations from dozens of countries.
HESS and HÜDIG new clients from DIB
The German Iraqi Office (DIB) deliverd a block making machine by HESS Group from Burbach-Wahlbach and a groundwater drawdown machine by HÜDIG (Celle) to Iraqi clients. Furthermore HÜDIG became contractional partner from DIB, that fuctions from now on as the agency abroad of the Lower Saxonys company in Irag. HÜDIG is a specialist company for well point systems, Dewatering Equipment and Waste Water Pumps.
Bagdad office expanding
Sad headlines from Iraq can be found in the newspapers every day. Unfortunately this country still does not have any peace.
In contrast, the business from the SBH office in Bagdad is very pleasant and rapidly expanding. Bassam Al-Ateia, who is in charge of the SBH Iraq sales, has overseen the growth and has purchased three shipments of equipment in a short amount of time.

DIHK German-Iraki Training Initiative: Iraki engineers trainined by DIB
The German Iraki Office placed two Iraki engineers for training in German partner-companies in the end of 2005. The two specialists remained about 10 weeks in Germany and were trained in the two companies NOE Schaltechnik (concrete forms) and SBH Tiefbautechnik (shoring systems).
Alltogether five qualified employees were taking part in the first German-Iraki Training Initiative. The Initiative is supported and coordinated by the German Ministry of Economics and the DIHK and will be continued and expanded in 2006.
First international fair in Iraq after the war: DIB Silver Sponsor at the DBX Kurdistan
With the participation of 320 international companies, 500 businessmen and about 95,000 visitors the IACCI has successfully finished DBX Kurdistan in Erbil. The DIB as a Silver Sponsor concluded serveral bargains during the fair. The office presented businnes opportunities and products from its European partner companies in the open area 1 and at both C 216. The DBX Kurdistan was the first international fair after the war 2003.
DIB met with Iraqi Minister Abdul Latif Raschid at Munich Conference: Batching plants for Ministry of Water Resources +++
DIB met with Iraqi Minister Abdul Latif Raschid at German Iraqi Conference in Munich from 18th to 20th of july to talk about the delivery of batching plants für Ministry of Water and Resources.
In the first international invitation to tender issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources the DIB organized and executed the sale of 10 concrete-mixing plants supplied by the Danish company Fibointercon. The DIB was in charge of the negotiations in Baghdad and Amman and was instrumental in preparing the bid. Besides arranging the core deal, the DIB also attended to the transportation, installation and insurance of the plants. To this end it organized business trips for officials of the Ministry of Water Resources as well as courses for technicians in Germany and Denmark.
